Hub Director Professor Kon Mouzakis was invited by the Deakin – National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) Research Partnership to give a keynote speech at its first webinar on 4th September 2020.
This webinar follows the successful seminar last year resulting in the formal partnership established between Deakin and NARI to strengthen existing linkages and encourage new research opportunities.
Co-hosted by Professor Briony Dow (Director, NARI) and Professor Rachel Huxley (Executive Dean, Deakin Faculty of Health), this webinar highlighted the existing strengths and synergies across the two organisations. During the webinar, attendees heard from other researchers on topics such as workforce development, mental health and wellbeing, preventing falls, the economics of loneliness and social isolation in an ageing population.
Professor Mouzakis’ keynote speech focussed on the the ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hub for Digital Enhanced Living, expanding on the research projects by our PhD students and in particular, highlighted the various possibilities and impact of the translational research projects with our industry partners.
